ABSTRACT

The process of amending India’s Constitution entails making changes to the country’s fundamental law or supreme law. Part XX (Article 368) of the Indian Constitution lays forth the method for amending the Constitution.

However, the procedure is not simple. The Parliament can change its methods, but it cannot change the clause that forms the foundation of the Constitution’s ‘basic structure’.

The Indian Constitution is neither too flexible nor rigid, but it is a hybrid of the two.

In this research work the researcher have discussed the different amendments done in the Indian Constitution and has also throw light on the causes and need of such amendments.
