ABSTRACT

As we read on to the various landmark judgments pronounced over the years, with respect to electricity being a part of Fundament Rights or not, it is observed that electricity is a basic necessity of modern-day human life and has got the recognition of being a part of the Fundamental Rights through these judgments. The Right to electricity no longer needs legal recognition to be a part of the Fundamental Rights, rather Right to Reliable Electricity is what is needed in present day. The need for sustained, uninterrupted, reliable, and affordable electricity for all strata of the society is need of the hour.
